Have you ever seen that your cat suddenly stops, freezes and stares at the wall?  Probably every cat owner has faced this situation. It looks like your furry friend saw a ghost. Yes, it sounds scary!

Do our cats supervise that we can’t see?

Scientists interested in such unusual behavior. Jackson Galaxy, expert in cat’s activity and health, started to study this question. He came to the conclusion that such strange behaviour has a scientific confirmation. Sudden freeze in place can be explained with cat’s increased sensitivity and specific perception of the world.

  * Cats hear about 1-2 octaves higher than humans

  * They smell about 10-15 times better than we do.  So those smells that we are not able to catch, cats smell clearly.

  * Besides, cats can react to the slightest changes in temperature and air currents with their long whiskers

If your cat suddenly stopped staring at the wall, it does not mean he saw a ghost.  Perhaps the pet heard whisper and was trying to understand where this sound came from.  And if the cat quickly runs away from the room for no reason, it may means that he doesn’t like the smell.
