Emerald tree skink is a lizard species that lives in Australia, New Guinea, the Solomon, Admiralty and Marshall Islands. They got their name due to the beautiful green color, which resembles the color of emeralds.

Emerald skinks have a long body and short legs. They can reach up to 30 cm in length and weigh up to 200 grams. Their skin is smooth and shiny, and there may be small bumps and spikes on their head and body. Emerald tree skinks are omnivores. They feed on fruits, berries, insects and small rodents.

These lizards are popular with exotic animal lovers. They are considered very intelligent and sociable, so they are well appropriate as pets.
